How Raven CFO Started.
My journey into construction finance definitely isn’t something to brag about, I started as a bookkeeper. I’ve always been the quick learner, good grades type but with this burning desire to do whatever I want when I want to.
Growing up in small town Texas, and even now in Phoenix, construction has been everywhere. Family, friends, neighbors all running businesses that seem to run them instead. I still watch a lot of them grinding 60-70 hour weeks, stressing about cash, missing life happening around them.
So I worked my way up to VP at a multi-million dollar construction company. Got my hands dirty in grading & excavation, custom home building, land development, real estate investing. Some days in the office running numbers and other days out with crews on job sites. I was lucky to be involved in just about everything—IT, marketing, legal, accounting, operations, and sales. That’s when I couldn’t ignore it anymore: all these incredible contractors are out busting their asses for us, but their financial systems just can’t keep up. They need real financial leadership, but hiring a full-time CFO? Out of reach.
So I started Raven CFO to fix it. And in 2024, after a brain cancer diagnosis, my mission became crystal clear help contractors find freedom in their business and lives, because I want the same in mine.
Today, my team and I help contractors who are doing $5-20M+ in annual revenue build the financial systems they need to scale profitably without the 60-70 hour weeks or losing control of cash flow. Because I believe they deserve to run successful businesses and get their freedom back.
